Fueled by an insatiable exploration of the human story, Dolce’s interdisciplinary background in Music, Mechanical Engineering, and Film has coalesced into over 15 years of working in the immersive entertainment industry. Whether at Walt Disney Imagineering, or as an independent artist, working on new media installations for clients such as Audi, Lulu Lemon, Honda, and Shanghai Tower, Dolce consistently reveals emotion within her tech-driven creations.
Dolce has won numerous international awards and acclaim, such as THEA 1st place award (Themed Entertainment) for her work on Shanghai Disneyland and Pirates of the Caribbean, the Disney Inventor’s Awards for her work within the R&D Department, as well as achieved several US Patents. She was the Chief Creative Officer of Fantasy Works Interactive overseeing creatives teams between Los Angeles and Shanghai, and is currently serving as Executive Creative Director at MoonShine Animation in Taiwan.
Outside of work, Dolce continues to perform and compose music, and is also the founder of the Vox Photo Project, a non-profit endorsed by the UN, where she teaches photography as a means of bringing voice to underserved communities around the world.
I believe that when everything falls apart, it is the role of the artist to bring beauty back into a broken world. Despite the worldwide challenges we’ve faced these years – not to mention the plight on our earth – I wanted to create an MR experience that explicitly uses technology as the means to bring guests into an organic and imaginative world within an environmental theme. With MR, we can use gesture recognition to turn the guests into heroes, so that their decisions determine the show’s outcome.
While the motifs of Formosan Harmony are inspired by Taiwan’s diverse ecology and endangered animals, the themes are relatable across all audiences to enjoy. "Taiwan does not lack beauty. It lacks discovery." As a small island no bigger than the size of California, Taiwan is like its own microcosm reflecting the global cycle of industrial development in the midst of natural beauty.
As the name suggests, Music and Sound Design are also critical components to driving our story, drawing inspiration from aboriginal chants, traditional folk songs, and even from the range of audible emotion from the Taiwanese forest itself. Through combining 5.1 surround, Ambisonics, and 360 audio on each HoloLens2 headset, we will push the sonic field to transport you to another world.
My hope is that our guests would not only be immersed in an unforgettable adventure, but also experience viscerally that through our actions, by working together, we bring harmony back to the environment.
