Tyrese is a multifaceted storyteller whose work bridges the raw, unapologetic truths of society with a distinct artistic edge. As an artist, poet, and filmmaker, I craft narratives that provoke thought, challenge norms, and spark conversation. My upcoming film, Virality, delves into the dark side of internet fame, blending intricate character studies with a non-linear narrative structure reminiscent of Pulp Fiction and the psychological depth of Requiem for a Dream. My storytelling draws inspiration from the unapologetic grit of Ralph Bakshi’s animation and the profound social commentary of James Baldwin’s prose—resulting in narratives that are as visually captivating as they are emotionally resonant. With a background rooted in exploring Black issues, mental health, and the complexities of modern media, My work stands at the intersection of art, activism, and truth.
Storytelling is an act of rebellion—a way to carve truth out of silence and confront the uncomfortable realities society tries to ignore. Like Ralph Bakshi’s unapologetic grit and James Baldwin’s illuminating prose, my work explores the tension between visibility and identity, forcing reflection through raw imagery, chaotic rhythms, and hard truths.
