Flying to the Future

Starting out on this project, I had the idea to represent the progressive spirit of Ohio with an arrow. The arrow would zip though the Columbus skyline and landmarks. Then I decided I wanted to make it a little less straight forward. After brainstorming, a paper airplane came to mind. Remembering that Ohio is known for its contributions to space aviation history, I wanted to weave this throughout my animation. The left-to-right flight movement of the airplane represents forward progress.

Sticking with the Ohio theme, I chose to add a couple of the state symbols. I added the two that could fly – the cardinal (state bird) and the ladybug (state insect). I kept details to a minimum so the viewer would be able to fully take in the images as they move across the screen.
