Leticia Sekito (São Paulo, 1975)
Dance and performance artist, creator of Companhia Flutuante, is interested in the power of the encounter between people and places and in the moving body and the lack of discipline between the arts. Received the Rede Stagium 97 Scholarship, Rumos Dança Itaú Cultural 2006/07, Funarte Klaus Viana Prize for Circulation in Dance 2009, Redes Artes Integradas Prize 2011, Fomenta à Dança 2011 and 2012, among others.Graduated by C.E.M. Centro em Movimento, directed by Sofia Neuparth, in Lisbon/Portugal, between 1990 and 1996. She worked at Estúdio Nova Dança and was co-creator and interpreter of Cia 2 Nova Dança, in São Paulo, from 1996 to 2010. Highlights the trilogy of solos: They said I was Japanese (2004), E Eu Sai: (2007) and Is Japan here? (2008), the group projects “Flutuante” (2011) and “Fluxos em Preto&Branco” (2012-2019), group and solo version and the project “Leões” (2016-19) with the Danish artist Peter Michael Dietz , residing in Portugal. It develops partnerships with visual artist and performer Suiá Burger Fer-lauto, illuminator Ligia Chaim, Nucleo Dança Aberta (Neca Zarvos and Priscila Jorge), artists Estela Lapponi, Rubia Braga, photographers Inês Corrêa and Gil Grossi, musicians Ramiro Murillo and Manuel Pessoa Lima. It is part of the Center for Oriental Studies, coordinated by Christine Greiner PUC/SP.
