Flux
‘Flux’ is an experimental short film and music video by UK artist DFTCNT. 'Flux' delves into a human mind drowning in external chaos and inner crisis. Lost in a surreal, consumer driven world where clickbait tribalism and identity games dictate, the characters are left to vent a collective wave of simmering rage and collective turmoil. As the drum beat rises and mob war unfolds, an urgent new energy ascends as the final catharsis awaits.

A spiralling dive into the cyclical nature of human consciousness in an age of rage and frustration. A strangled silent scream turned into a fever dream of a world in crisis.
‘Flux’ depicts a world teetering on the brink of self-destruction, lost somewhere between harmony and chaos. It sits in the eternal cycle of a humanity in perpetual motion, where deep forces lurk and the collective is a fractal recursion of the individual.
When I was writing the song 'Flux' and adding the staccato drums I could see an unfolding tableau of warring characters gradually fill the screen and in a strange way the song and video were developed as one, as the sounds, characters and unfolding story came to life in my mind. Then as recent global events transpired the whole piece seemed to take on an even deeper and more prescient meaning.
I am very proud to present 'Flux' as my debut short film.
