Flow
In a time when originality often feels in short supply, creating something you can call your own can be difficult. The intent of this work is to combine two things that have remained important my entire life: visual art and dance. “Flow” was completed through the process of choreographing a dance, shooting and editing video, rotoscoping, digital painting, and the creation of audio.
This particular rotoscoping style is a combination of both meticulously drawn frames taken directly from sections of video, and sketchier frames drawn more loosely that were created using the video as a reference, but with some interpretation of the dancer’s movement. While nothing ever has been or will ever be 100% original, with this work, it was my intent to create something as close to it as possible by completing each step of the process myself.
