Almourad Aldeeb (he/him) is a Syrian filmmaker, based in Germany. He was born in Homs, Syria 1991.
Currently, Almourad is studying film at the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne. His practice is a search for poetic expressions that reflect and shape his narrative.
In 2011, with the start of the civil movement in Syria, as a Syrian youth who believes in freedoms and human rights, Almourad participated in public demonstrations and the peaceful movement against the Syrian dictatorial regime.
In 2013, as a result of his civil activities, He was arrested and held captive in Assad's prisons for several months, until mid-2014 when he was released from prison and fled Syria to Turkey then Germany to save himself from an inevitable fate.
Based on his personal experience, Almourad is trying to find a narrative that starts from what the Syrian people went through during the years of revolution and passes to the struggle of a generation confronting many crises all over the world.
