Philip Mesterton was born in Stockholm, Sweden and raised across both Stockholm and Amsterdam. Watching Ridley Scott's horror classic Alien led to an obession with filmmaking that saw Philip move to London to study filmmaking at the London College of Communication where he recently completed his Bachelor's Degree.
Flesh was inspired by friendship with several students studying at highly competitive fashion schools across London. I saw the toll that the cut throat environment was taking on them and how each student was constantly trying to one up the other with something more audacious and more daring. My horror brain activated and I thought what’s the most shocking piece a student could make? And so FLESH was born. My ultimate goal with Flesh was to explore the mental and physical toll the fashion industry takes on young designers through the lens of unnerving and thought provoking horror film. Working on the film was a dream come true. Being able to work with such a talented group of cast and crew to create something that will hopefully make being twist and turn in their seats was all I could ever hope for as a director.
