Oh boy. this music video, if i can call it one, is very special to me.
A culmination of the best trip of my life, with the favorite person in my life. Who is now my wife.
The song by NATALIE ALON (my wife) and ASSAF HOZZEZ (not my wife, just a friend 😊) was written, composed, recorded and mixed in parallel with the editing of the video itself, in a sort of experimental process where the video affected the audio while it was being made and vice versa.
A "concept" short i shot entirely on a drone, with a joy of life that comes once in a decade.
In the video we wanted to convey a sense of wonder and playfulness. Just a girl roaming through “bigger than life” places, all the while playing with her trusted POI, with not a care in the world. Trying to get to God’s beach, as we called it (the last location in the video). The fantastical sights, colors and changing terrain that surround her do not affect her, as she is above everything, she will get to where she wants to be, and she will have fun on the way.
The lyrics, written by Natalie after the shoot, were partly written about Iceland, where the entire clip was shot, and partly about me- the man she travelled there with. Frankly, the whole thing is so romantic it’s almost disgusting.
We edited it largely together, for more than 2 years as she and Assaf worked on the song, we went to see the color grading team to decide on the look and feel of the video together, and even as I’m writing this she’s sitting next to me, writing something on her own computer, also related to this project. Some couples have their own song, we have our own music video.
