Best Debut Short Film
Alyssa Wong (she/her) is a Naarm-based filmmaker studying a Bachelor of Film and Television (Honours) at Swinburne University of Technology. She has experience in directing film, theatre and most recently directing and writing 16mm short film 'Fish Fight', earning her the award for Best Debut Short Film at the Athens International Monthly Art Film Festival. Her experimental film 'Hollow' was also selected to be a part of the MINA Smartphone Film Festival 'New Voices' category. When Alyssa is not directing, she can be found acting in various student plays and short films. Alyssa is a finalist for Best Australian Supporting Performance for her role as Darcie in Caroline (Paper Flower Films, 2024) in the AFIN International Film Festival.
