Director Statement

This project started as a short story that I wrote and wanted to find a way to share. I had the thought one day, "wouldn't it be funny if a guy tried to sacrifice his firstborn son to a demon but then found out the baby wasn't actually his first kid?" I loved the idea so I turned it into a story, and after writing my story I felt like it would make a great film. I initially planned to do the whole thing in my basement with my iPhone, but when Porcelain Dalya showed interest in producing, we were able to put together a real crew and make something way better than what I could have done by myself. In the original story, John actually kills the baby before the demon appears, but test audiences (my mom) found that version too upsetting, and I decided that the film would be more humorous if the baby isn't killed. Though I did have great ideas for using a bunch of bloody meat and organs for special effects. Next time, maybe.
