First Taste

Nguyen Duy Anh is a queer moving image artist based in Hanoi, Vietnam. He graduated with a degree in film directing from a four-year exchange program between Hanoi Academy of Theatre and Cinema and INSAS, Belgium. As a director, screenwriter, producer, editor, and organizer, Duy Anh has produced many different works, including fictional short films and documentaries, video installations, music videos, and more, which have been screened and exhibited at various venues and film festivals such as Singapore International Film Festival, Bali International Short Film Festival, Kunsthalle TRAFO, ect. His work explores and questions the domination of larger systems to the expressive freedom of individuals in contemporary social contexts. Since 2022, He became a member of ba-bau AIR, a collective of producer, curator and artists based in Hanoi, Viet Nam and co-found Hoa Quynh cinema as a part of ba-bau AIR.
