Finn Burnham - Kayaking Wales

Finn Burnham set himself the challenge of Kayaking solo around Wales in memory of his friend Callum Wylie.

Callum and Finn had been friends since birth, sharing many adventures together. Despite having Asperger’s, Callum was a talented sportsman who loved the outdoors, and felt truly at home in the mountains.

Unfortunately Callum also suffered with depression and sadly, at the start of this year, took his own life, he was only 18.

Callum's family and friends set up the Callum Wylie Foundation in his memory to raise awareness in schools and colleges about the hidden complexities faced by young people with Asperger’s and high functioning autism and the need to manage their education accordingly. They want to provide a service to help vulnerable adolescents with Asperger’s and high functioning autism in times of depression, anxiety and crisis. Giving parents and carers the tools to help them cope and support their children through these challenging times.

They raise money the only way they know how, by 'Shredding 4 Cal'. In this short film Finn talks openly about his friend, the reasons for setting himself this challenge and what he expects from it.

Filmed at Angel Bay, Llandudno and Llanddwyn Island, Anglesey.
