Finding Your Fairytale
Finding Your Fairytale follows as 13 individuals transform into classic fairy tale characters for a series of photos while telling their own stories of overcoming adversity. Each person's chosen character and symbolic photoshoot represents the struggle they have experienced and their success in overcoming it, including mental health issues, chronic illness, abuse, sexual assault, and addiction. The film aims to reduce stigma, initiate meaningful conversations, and prove that it's never too late for happily ever after.

After losing her mother to suicide in 2005, Angie was motivated to make a difference. She turned her pain into passion for inspiring others and pursued a career in psychology. After several years of experience working in mental health and obtaining a Master's degree in Community Psychology, she was inspired to find a way to reach a larger audience. With a team of inspirational individuals and the support of the community through a Kickstarter campaign, she set off on a new journey-- documentary filmmaking. Her lack of experience in film was balanced out with an intense desire to inspire, and what resulted is a raw and relatable documentary that demonstrates that despite life's biggest obstacles, happily ever after is still possible.
"My mother did everything in her power to make my childhood magical, but as hard as she tried to make me believe in magic, she couldn't see it for herself. I've finally found a way to turn my pain into passion for helping others to continue fighting their battles, writing their own stories, and to believe that happily ever is not only attainable, but well deserved. I hope that this film inspires others to embrace their stories without shame and stigma, and to walk tall and proud, as if always wearing a crown."
