Finding John Lingwood
The 55-minute film explores the impact of architecture on community-building in Waterloo Region, through the life of John Lingwood, 1923-1996.
Lingwood uprooted his young family in 1955 to move from Detroit to his mother-in-law's two-bedroom apartment on Borden Avenue in Kitchener. He became one of our most prolific architects, designing everything from churches and schools to civic buildings and private homes. Chances are most people in Waterloo Region have been touched by his work.

I spent over 20 years working in the news department of the Waterloo Region Record as a photojournalist, photo editor and website editor. I left The Record to work at the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) managing its online research communities. After leaving CIGI, I returned to my love of storytelling, this time through documentary film. I have spent the past two years producing, shooting and editing Finding John Lingwood.
