Isabel Miranda is a Bolivian-American artist who grew up in 7 different countries all over the world. Her transcultural upbringing influenced her interest in photography and documentary filmmaking, where she explores themes of identity, belonging, memory, and spirituality. Through her work she strives to create visual narratives that reveal the deep connections between our diverse backgrounds, while emphasizing our shared human experience. Her films have screened in the 2020 Mass Reality Check - Salem Film Fest, 2022 Global Peace Film Festival and the 2022 Acton Boxborough Cultural Council's Our World Film Series. Isabel holds an MFA in Film and Media Art from Emerson College and was selected as a participant for the 2024 Eddie Adams Workshop.
"Finding Home" is an intimate exploration of what it means to belong. Growing up in seven countries as a third culture kid, I faced the question ‘Where are you from?’ countless times. This film is my answer—a journey into my memories, identities, and the landscapes that shaped me. By blending animation with documentary footage, I hope to convey the fragmented yet vibrant reality of a life lived between cultures. "Finding Home" is not just my story; it is an invitation for anyone who has ever felt ‘in-between’ to reflect on their own search for a place to call home.
