Director Statement

Final Thoughts of Adelaide holds a special place in my heart. The script was written quickly, within the span of two days, inspired by the idea of “if you really did have one day to live, what would you do?” and the existentialism and guilt that would go along with it if it were to happen in real life. With such a topic, I didn’t want to portray this as something that could be explained away, since the point of the film is the emotions of existentialism not how to avoid it, I took a more experimental and mystical approach to this project. This included never explaining why Adelaide is dying today, an ethereal score, the use of the forest, blue and purple color pallets, and non-linier, theatrical storytelling. Overall, Final Thoughts of Adelaide was a joy to create, and has inspired me to push myself out of my comfort zone as an artist.
