FINAL CUT is the world's only work-in-progress festival. We're looking to provide $25,000 worth of post production services.

FINAL CUT is on the look out for filmmakers who had the courage and ambition to get their project on film, but need finishing funds. FINAL CUT will provide complete post work for your project, including sound design, sound mixing, score composition, video editing, video effects, color correction, and titles. EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO COMPLETE YOUR FILM.

Your film can be at any stage, as long as you've shot all the footage (Currently, Final Cut is not accepting animated films). You can send fragments, scenes, poor audio, no audio, WE'RE ONLY JUDGING TALENT. We're looking for original voices, not deep pockets.

Final Cut accepts narrative and non-fiction films.

Awards & Prizes

All submissions receive feedback from industry professionals.

Two Finalists will receive one-on-one consultations with producers from Barnstorm Media.

One Grand Jury Prize Winner will receive complete post production from Barnstorm Media. Barnstorm Media is a full service production house that has produced 5 feature films and dozens of short films, trailers and music videos.

Barnstorm Media will provide over $25,000 in post production services for the winning submission including, but not limited to, Edit Conform, Color Grading, Video Effects, Sound Design, Full Sound Mix, and Score Composition. You retain final cut. We are here to serve you and your film.

When the film is complete, SMG will distribute the film on all digital platforms, (iTunes, Hulu, Netflix, Amazon, Google Play, Xbox, Sony Playstation and more), through inflight film distribution (to all major airlines), and via DVD.

Rules & Terms

1. Work in Progress films must be submitted as an online streaming video via a participating submission platform (FilmFreeway), or through a password protected Vimeo URL.
2. Films must be the original work of the applicants. If a film is based upon another person’s life or upon a book or other underlying work, applicant(s) must secure any necessary rights to make such adaptations. However, it is not necessary to submit the adaptation rights agreements to the Festival. By entering the competition, you represent that you have secured all necessary rights.
3. Applicants are solely responsible for obtaining all necessary rights and permissions for third-party materials included in their films, including but not limited to music, trademarks, logos, copyrights, and other intellectual property rights. Final Cut expressly disclaims all liability or responsibility for any violations of the foregoing.
4. Once an entry payment has been received we cannot provide a refund.
5. Submitters may submit more than one entry in more than one category.
6. All judges’ decisions are final.

Terms & Conditions

I have read all of Final Cut’s rules and regulations. I understand and have complied with these rules.

I understand that failure to adhere to Final Cut’s rules will result in disqualification.

I understand that I may submit a feature length or short film but that only one film, regardless of category, will be chosen as the Grand Jury Prize winner.

I am the sole owner and author of the submitted material. I also contend that this work has never been distributed in any capacity.

Furthermore, I indemnify Final Cut, its affiliates, sponsors and judges of and from any and all claims, loss or liability that may be asserted against you or incurred by you or any associates, at any time in connection with said material.

If chosen as an AWARD winner, I give Final Cut a Non-exclusive, Worldwide, Royalty Free license to use excerpts of my media and biographical information for advertising or promotional purposes, including, without limitation, the right of display, reproduction, and distribution on barnstormfest.com or its social media outlets.
