Lisa Sanow is the heart, soul, connected energy, and founder of SeaHawk Productions. Literally a "Jackie-of-all-trades," she produced, wrote and directed the touching romantic comedy “Gone Postal” starring Lee Meriwether & James Mathers. Counted among her credited 15 shorts is the quirky “Putnam Palace” based on the characters in the upcoming feature “Putnam County Law.” “Putnam Palace” was competed in 2004 and won Lisa an exclusive distribution deal with Big Film Shorts. In 2007, Lisa directed, wrote and produced the award winning short "Twisted Faith" starring Elaine Hendrix and Jason Stuart. After a successful festival run, "Twisted Faith" was picked up for distribution by Regent Releasing. In 2013, Lisa produced, wrote and directed "The Inappropriate Medium" a parody of the TLC series "Long Island Medium" and released on the SeaHawk Productions YouTube channel. Lisa just completed directing her first feature film Final 48 that uses an innovative film style as an homage to the Danish Dogme 95 movement.
Lisa has an extensive theatrical resume with credits in acting, directing, and producing. She has appeared in more than 28 films including "White Man's Burden" and "Little Giants" making her an "actors" director. Lisa is a college graduate with two Masters Degrees; one from California State University in Mass Communications and the other from Loyola Marymount University in Screenwriting, and she has completed 9 feature-length screenplays with 4 more in development.
Final 48 breaks new ground in independent film by using new filmic techniques to create a high quality feature film on an ultra low budget. The story was scripted, but the dialogue was completely improvised in real time by the actors based on extended character biographies with only one scripted line of dialogue. Each actor knew their own reveals, but were unaware of the any other character's reveal until they were disclosed during shooting perserving the spontaneity for the actors. The film was shot with nine characters, on six cameras, in four days at one location.
