Film Stream Awards is a festival dedicated to outdoor adventure short films celebrating the power of uncharted exploration. We are committed to bring the best of outdoor sports and adventure cinema to a global audience.

The Best Short of the Year will be announced and will receive a USD 1,000 cash prize.

Our 2022 annual program will include adventure and documentary features and short films; series and episodic content; and the launch to our Uncharted Film Maker Academy geared towards new frontier story tellers. We will be showcasing emerging filmmakers and planning events in Reno, San Diego and Hawaii. We will be featuring daily filmmaker conversations, panel discussions, and live music events on our website www.filmstreamfestival.com Our site will also showcase films that have launched at Festivals nationwide and gained critical recognition and acclaim, reaching new audiences worldwide.

The 2020 Stay Local FilmStream Festival will take place in December 29th - 30th 2022 in the heart of Heavenly Village, South Lake Tahoe, CA.

We are willing to screen your film in different markets amongst diverse audiences, in order to support you in developing your uprising career.

All award-winning films will be screened in our public events. All tickets for the screening blocks can be purchased online through our website.

Our professional screeners will privately review your film and the highest scored films will become part of the Official FilmStream Selection. Then, our FilmStream jury will award the best projects among them. All of them will receive the official laurel and an achievement certificate.

We will be awarding the Best Short of the year with a prize of USD 1,000.

Winner announcements will be released through our social media to help promote your film.

RULES

1- In order to submit a film, you must own the rights or have permission from the owner.
2- The Festival relationship will exclusively be related to the film submitter.
3- Any Foreign film that is not in English must have English subtitles.
4- All fees are non-refundable.
5- FilmStream Festival will not be responsible for damaged copies.
6- A DCP copy of the film is required for the annual gala screening.
7- Students must present a valid Student ID in order to receive our student discount.
8- Not all the submissions are selected for the official competition. Our Judges are free to make their own choices and no answers will be given about not selected films.
9- FilmStream Festival can consider any film to be disqualified if the festival considers the content inappropriate. If you have any question regarding this decision you might contact us at our email address hello@filmstreamfestival.com
10- Filmmakers can submit the film in multiple categories in order to become a multi-award film. Our Team may suggest the categories that are more suitable for the film to apply. Still, the decision about the selection is strictly determined by our judges' team and no selection is guaranteed.
11- A fee is required for the main category submission and also fees for additional categories. For payment structure visit (FilmFreeway website).
12- The applicants (submitters) must accept our FilmStream Awards Rules and Terms.
13- All submissions in personal categories required the name of the person and the category. You can easily send us this information in the cover letter at FilmFreeway website.
14- Submitting your movie, you authorize FilmStream Awards to use, distribute and share the film poster, trailer, synopsis and movie stills in our social media.
15- Maximum length allowed is 20 minutes.
16- The annual prize of usd 1,000 will be given once a year to the Best Short of the Year.
17- Completed films need to be uploaded at the time of entry. We do not accept rough cuts, trailers orunfinished projects and are unable to consider new versions of films once they’re entered. Please refer to the late entry application process in the section below.
18- Films produced in the year 2018, 2019 and 2020 are eligible for competition.
19- The same film may only be entered once in the FilmStream Awards show.
Screening fees will not be paid by the Festival.
20- Award winners agree to have their film screened locally for one night only after the Festival as part of an award winners series at the Heavenly Village Cinema. A separate licensing agreement with an agreed fee will be made directly with the film entrant.
21- All submissions may be retained by the Festival for adjudication, on-demand and archival purposes.
22- All film entries uploaded via FilmFreeway, along with available film overview, credits, specifications and distributor information will be made accessible for viewing during the Festival in our On-demand Screening Room to filmmakers, distributors, festival directors, FilmSteam Festival hosts, and media.
23- The Entrant grants the Festival and its successors, licensees and assigns the right to copy and version the entry in its entirety to facilitate technical operations of the Festival, in and through any and all media formats now known or hereafter devised.
24- The Entrant grants the Festival and its successors, licensees and assigns the right to use up to three minutes from the entry AND accompanying photos submitted to the Festival for promotional purposes of the Festival and its activities in or through any and all media formats now known or hereafter devised, including, but not limited to, the Internet throughout the universe.
25- An admission charge will be made to the public in order to defray the costs of the Festival.
26- The Entrant acknowledges and agrees that all matters will be decided by Festival organizers or the Festival jury at their sole discretion.

FINALIST MASTERS:
If your film is selected as a finalist, you will be required to provide a high resolution master via secure digital transfer
and you will be contacted by the Festival with instructions on how to upload your film. We accept finalist masters as
either Avid DNxHD or Apple ProRes 422 codecs at 1920x1080i/p in a .mov or .mxf wrapper. Our preference is to use
the 10bit codecs (example: ProRes 422 (HQ) or Avid DNxHD 175X, 185X or 220X – depending on frame-rate). We will
also request finalists to submit their master film with the frame rate that it was edited in, to a maximum of 30
frames per second. Audio should be uncompressed PCM, .wav or .aif at 24bit, 48kHz.
Notes
• If English is not the original language of your film: The Festival reserves the right to refuse films without English
voiceover or English subtitles. Subtitles must be part of the video image.
• The Festival Producer will have the option to conform the content to broadcast-quality standardization or,
alternatively, to charge a fee (in consultation with entrant) for FilmStream in-house corrections in the event of
substandard submission.

PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS
If your film is selected as a finalist, you will be asked to provide a minimum of 5 (and up to 10) images from the film
to be reproduced, published and/or exhibited for promotional purposes as they pertain to the FilmStream Festival.
In addition,
we will require 2 trailers for public viewing if available: the file for one short (15-60 second) version and the URL
to one longer (over 60 second) version that will be used on our various marketing platforms.

INDEMNITY
The Entrant agrees to indemnify FilmStream and their respective successors, assigns, licensees, and their respective officers, directors, members, agents and employees and hold them harmless from and against any and all claims, liability, losses, damages, costs, expenses (including reasonable
legal fees) and penalties arising out of, resulting from, based upon or incurred because of a breach by the Entrant of any statement, representation or warranty made by the Entrant in this entry form.

GRANT OF RIGHTS AND WAIVER - by entering the film competition, the Entrant represents and warrants that:
a) The Entrant hereby grants FilmStream the rights to use the film as outlined in this entry form.
b) It owns all right, title and interest, including the copyright and all intellectual property rights, in and to the film being submitted to the Festival and has the right to distribute, exhibit and promote the film in or through all media formats now known or hereafter devised, including, but not limited to, the Internet throughout the universe.
c) All music licenses (including, without limitation, all synchronization, mechanical and master-use licenses, as applicable) have been obtained and all payments have been made that are required for the public performance of the music incorporated in the film.
d) No material in the film being submitted by the Entrant to the Festival is libelous or is slanderous or defamatory or violates any right of privacy or publicity of any person, and the full use of the rights in such film will not violate any rights, including copyright or moral rights, of any person, firm or corporation.
e) To the extent that the Film Producer may now or in the future be entitled to any so-called moral, author’s or similar rights in the film pursuant to the Copyright Act (USA) or otherwise, the Producer hereby irrevocably waives and relinquishes all such rights in favor of FilmStream and its assignees and licensees to the fullest extent permitted by law.
f) By entering in the FilmStream Competition, the entrant acknowledges and agrees to all entry Rules and Terms.
