1) Nur Filme aus Schleswig-Holstein im Wettbewerb
Es werden ausschließlich Filme aus Schleswig-Holstein für den Wettbewerb angenommen.
Die Positionen Drehbuch, Regie, Kamera (DOP) oder Schauspiel (Hauptrolle) mit Wohnort in SH qualifizieren den Film für den Wettbewerb.
Über andere Bezüge zu Schleswig-Holstein wird im Einzelfall entschieden. Filme aus Grenzregionen oder mit besonderem Bezug zum Festival können in Programme außerhalb des Wettbewerbs aufgenommen werden.
Lang- und Kurzfilme, die für den Wettbewerb eingereicht wurden, können auch in Blöcken außerhalb des Wettbewerbs gezeigt werden.
Es können Experimentalfilme aus Schleswig-Holstein für die Sektion "Blickfang" eingereicht werden. Das Festival lädt darüberhinaus Arbeiten von internationalen Künstlern für die Sektion ein.
2) Datum der Fertigstellung
Eingereicht werden können aktuelle Filme (Fertigstellung in den Jahren 2021-2023), die in den Vorjahren noch nicht eingereicht wurden.
3) Untertitel
Deutsche oder englische Untertitel sind für jeden Film erforderlich, der nicht in einer der beiden Sprachen vorliegt.
4) Abspielrechte
Mit der Einreichung wird dem Filmfest Schleswig-Holstein das Recht erteilt, das eingereichte Werk im Rahmen des Filmfest Schleswig-Holstein zu zeigen. Dies kann in Form von Screenings in Präsenzveranstaltungen, via. Online-Stream und VOD (Video-on-Demand) geschehen. Weiter wird dem Filmfest SH das Recht erteilt, zu Marketingzwecken Filmausschnitte und Standbilder zu verwenden.
5) Der/Die Einreicher*in muss bestätigen, dass sie/er rechtlich befugt ist, die Filme einzureichen und dem Filmfest SH die oben beschriebene Nutzung zu gestatten. Der/Die Einreicher*in verpflichtet sich, das Filmfest SH von jeglichen Ansprüchen Dritter freizuhalten, die sich aus der rechtlichen Befugnis ergeben könnten. Mit der Anmeldung erklärt sich der/die Einreicher*in mit den Regeln des Wettbewerbs einverstanden. Das Team Filmfest SH entscheidet über außergewöhnliche oder fragwürdige Themen, die nicht in den Richtlinien enthalten sind.
6) DCP als Uploadfile
Für die meisten Spielorte wird eine Vorführkopie des Films im DCP-Format benötigt. Mit der Einreichung des Films erklären Sie sich einverstanden innerhalb von zwei Wochen nach Bekanntgabe der Teilnahme diese via Upload bereitzustellen. Physische Datenträger wie DVDs, Blu-ray Discs, Festplatten oder USB-Sticks können leider nicht angenommen werden.
7) Kosten für Transport
Sofern nicht anders vereinbart, tragen die Teilnehmer die Kosten für Transport, Versicherung und Verzollung der Filmkopien.
8) Anmeldeformular nach der Zusage
Das Festival benötigt für alle ausgewählten Filme ein ausgefülltes Anmeldeformular, um den Festivalkatalog und die Online-Präsentation des Programms zusammenzustellen. Die angeforderten Materialien sollten so schnell wie möglich nach Annahme der Einladung, spätestens jedoch bis zum 13. Dezember 2023 eingereicht werden. Das Festival übernimmt keine Haftung für Ungenauigkeiten in den eingereichten Materialien. Die schriftlichen Programmhinweise liegen im alleinigen Ermessen des Filmfestes SH.
9) Rücknahme des Films
Nachdem die Teilnahme eines Films am Festival öffentlich bekannt gegeben wurde, ist eine Rücknahme des Films nicht mehr möglich.
10) Screening Fees
Für die eingereichten Filme können keine Screening Fees ausgezahlt werden.
11) Andere Veranstaltungen
Die Veranstalter des Festivals behalten sich vor, die eingereichten Filme im Rahmen des Wettbewerbes, in anderen Filmreihen sowie zu weiteren – im Zusammenhang mit dem Filmfestival Schleswig-Holstein stehenden – Veranstaltungen zu zeigen.
12) Änderung der Festivalordnung
Die Festivalleitung ist berechtigt, in besonderen Fällen die Festivalordnung zu ändern.

1) Only films from Schleswig-Holstein for the competition
Only films from Schleswig-Holstein will be accepted for the competition.
The positions of screenplay, direction, camera (DOP) or acting (leading role) with a place of residence in SH qualify the film for the competition.
Decisions about other connections to Schleswig-Holstein will be made on a case-by-case basis. Films from border regions or with a special connection to the festival can be included in programs outside of the competition.
Long and short films submitted for the competition can also be shown in blocks outside of the competition.
Experimental films from Schleswig-Holstein can be submitted for the “Blickfang” section. The festival also invites works by international artists for this section.
2) Date of completion
Current films (completed in 2021 - 2023) that have not yet been submitted in previous years can be submitted.
3) Subtitles
German or English subtitles are required for every film that is not available in either language.
4) Playback rights
With the submission, the Schleswig-Holstein Film Festival is granted the right to show the submitted work as part of the Schleswig-Holstein Film Festival. This can take the form of screenings in face-to-face events, as well as online streaming and VOD (video on demand). The SH Film Festival is also granted the right to use film clips and still images for marketing purposes.
5) The submitter must confirm that they are legally authorized to submit the films and to allow Filmfest SH to use them as described above. The submitter undertakes to hold Filmfest SH harmless from any third-party claims that could arise from legal authority. By registering, the entrant agrees to the rules of the competition. The Filmfest SH team decides on unusual or questionable topics that are not included in the guidelines.
6) DCP as an upload file
A screening copy of the film in DCP format is required for most venues. By submitting the film, you agree to availability via upload within two weeks of announcing your participation. Unfortunately, physical storage media such as DVDs, Blu-ray Discs, hard drives or USB sticks cannot be accepted.
7) Cost of transportation
Unless otherwise agreed, participants bear the costs of transport, insurance and customs clearance of the film prints.
8) Registration form after acceptance
The festival requires a completed registration form for all selected films in order to compile the festival catalog and the online presentation of the program. The requested materials should be submitted as soon as possible after acceptance of the invitation, but no later than December 13, 2023. The Festival assumes no liability for inaccuracies in the submitted materials. The written program information is at the sole discretion of the Schleswig-Holstein Film Festival.
9) Withdrawal of the film
Once a film's participation in the festival has been publicly announced, it is no longer possible to withdraw it.
10) Screening fees
No screening fees can be paid for the submitted films.
11) Other events
The organizers of the festival reserve the right to show the submitted films as part of the competition, in other film series and at other events related to the Schleswig-Holstein Film Festival.
12) Change to the festival regulations
The festival management is entitled to change the festival regulations in special cases.
