Welcome to Film Night 2025, an innovative film festival nestled in the vibrant Fort Greene neighborhood of Brooklyn. Held monthly at the iconic Rustik Tavern, our festival is a celebration of storytelling through a diverse array of cinematic forms, including Short Narratives, Documentaries, Experimental Films, and Animation. We take pride in highlighting the voices of Black and international filmmakers, providing a platform for stories that resonate across cultures and communities.

Film Night 2025 curates a unique lineup featuring both emerging and established filmmakers, with a special focus on medium-length films—a category often overlooked in traditional festivals. Our mission is to champion underrepresented filmmakers, showcasing compelling narratives that challenge, entertain, and inspire.

More than just a screening event, Film Night 2025 is a hub for community engagement and artistic exchange. Our events are infused with a DIY spirit, creating a welcoming atmosphere where filmmakers, artists, and audiences can connect. Each festival night features good music, engaging discussions, and networking opportunities, fostering a vibrant space for creativity and collaboration.

Awards & Prizes

Selected films are honored with Film Nights "Film Night Laurel," a prestigious accolade that recognizes outstanding cinematic achievement. Each laureate receives an official Certificate of Recognition, and exceptional works may also have the opportunity to be broadcasted on a leading TV network. As an IMDB certified festival, we offer filmmakers the chance to gain significant exposure and recognition within the industry.

Rules & Terms

**Transparency & Scheduling:**

We value transparency and strive to keep all participants informed about scheduling and event details. Please note that while we aim for a seamless festival experience, specific scheduling elements such as time slots and screening orders are managed independently of FREE Studios and Film Night 2025.

**Submission Rules & Terms:**

- **Open to All:** We welcome films from any festival cycle, embracing timeless tales that captivate audiences.

- **Pre-screening Consultation:** Filmmakers should consult with producers and agents prior to submission.

- **Presentation Categories:** Our team will carefully curate and position your film in a category that best reflects its essence.

- **Eligibility:** We accept films, digital narratives, episodic content, and short-length social features with a strong storytelling core. Commercial projects are not eligible.

**Language & Accessibility:** Non-English films are welcomed but must include captions for accessibility.
