  • This festival is exactly what South Florida needs to promote local filmmakers. I had the joy of intimately screen my short film before an exquisite audience, and got to witness their reactions, something that's very well cherished by FIlmmakers.
The venue is really cool and the event is very well organized. I look forward to other activities there. Kudos to everyone at FilmGate!

  • What an incredible film festival experience! I am so glad that my wife (plus size model/inspirational speaker/actor) Nikkie Bendross and I were able to attend the World Premiere of our docushort My Skin Is Not A Sin in person at FilmGate Miami Film Festival - Documentary Month. Because we were welcomed with so much hospitality, respect and love. The other films were well selected and we enjoyed them very much. Everything just went off without a hitch and the Q&A was quite productive, although, I wish we could have spent a little more time with that portion. However, I completely understand because we couldn't be there all night lol And so, now I am totally stoked about attending another event put on by these incredible artists and industry pros.

Thanks to FilmGate for supporting my project and giving me the opportunity to screen my short documentary! It is important to independent filmmakers to have this venue to grow and network.
