Filling in the Map: Ski-Mountaineering Expedition to Chitrāl Pakistan

There are very few spots left in the world where true exploration is possible. A region where detailed topographical maps don’t exist. A region with one of the final polytheistic tribes. Our American culture views Pakistan and much of the middle east as a hotbed for Muslim extremism and we see this as a chance to tell a different story. There are still modern-day explorers visiting some of the most remote places on earth and seeing the cultures in their true light. Northern Pakistan offers some of the most remote and unexplored ski terrain in the world.

Our team is a group of 8. We are all in our 20's and none of us are sponsored athletes. 3 AMGA Trained Ski & Splitboard guides, Drew Layman, Peter Stone, and Chris Martin. Nora Friedman, Laura Gaylord, Luke Worley, and Elliot Levey our four most badass skiers and snowboards who share our earning for the unknown. Drew Herder our storyteller, filming a project like this not only requires outstanding ski-mountaineering skills but also an eye and experience filming in harsh environments.

We plan to travel to Pakistan in April of 2020.
