Celebrating Filipino-American shorts and talent...
Thanks to Fil-Am Creative's partnership with the prestigious Asian World Film Festival, Fil-Am Creative will present the Filipino-American community's best shorts to be held in Los Angeles, California, in November 2022.
FilAm Creative is a Los Angeles-based non-profit community organization dedicated to the advancement and empowerment of Filipinos and Filipino Americans in the media and entertainment industry.
The Asian World Film Festival (AWFF) brings the best of a broad selection of Asian World cinema to Los Angeles in order to draw greater recognition to the region's wealth of filmmakers, strengthening ties between the Asian and Hollywood film industries.

Thelma Sugay - President of the Fil-Am Press Association of California
Minnie Nguyen - CEO of WDA Entertainment
Livi Zheng - Producer/ Director at Sun and Moon Films
Ken Zheng - Head Writer at Sun and Moon Films
Kathleen Lee - CEO of Keslow Films, and AWFF Executive
MJ Racadio - CEO of Social Dragon PR
Charles Gray - Producer/ Writer/ Director and Director of Content at Character Media
Mark Choi - AWFF Executive
Awards:
1) Fil-Am Creative: Short Film of the Year
2) Best Actor
3) Best Actress
4) Best Screenplay
5) Best Director
Winners will receive certificates, prizes, and press for their respective projects, including one on one interviews and meetings with Fil-Am Press Club President and Social Dragon PR CEO. The winner will be presented during the festival with filmmakers.
Select Films Will Also be Eligible for the $5,000 HFPA SCHOLARSHIP AT AWFF:
To qualify and be eligible for the Scholarship, films must fulfill the criteria listed below.
Each film must be:
1. A short Asian film from one of the 53 Asian countries listed on the AWFF website
2. Movie should NOT exceed 15 minutes in length (with a grace time of 55 sec)
And Strong, high quality and technically competent
3. Narrative only (animation or documentary will not be accepted)
4. Completed in the year 2021 or 2022
5. Produced and/or directed by an Asian or Asian-American, or anyone of Asian
Descent, (or include a cast of mainly Asians)
6. The filmmaker's debut, second or third film.
7. The deadline for submission is midnight (Pacific Time) September 30, 2022.
8. No AWFF Team Members or their families, HFPA Members or their families,
may be involved in the production of any of the films selected for consideration
for their respective Scholarship.
Being one of the 5 Finalists in each Group does NOT guarantee the Scholarship.
