Dhriti Borah was born in Assam, India on December 25th. As a child she grew up watching her mother telling stories through films. From the age of 14 she started spending most of her time on sets with her mother and soon started assisting her.
Since childhood, Dhriti showed leadership abilities, coming up with solutions to problems, challenging the challenges and feeling unbounded joy the way things shape up as she envision.
She started writing when she was 16 years old and didn't stop. The satisfying feeling of transforming the fantasies living in her mind and bringing them to life on screen became her motive and her mother's encouragement and applaud to her vision makers her feel she is arriving.
Growing up in a small town, her passion faced limitation so she moved to the capital, New Delhi and studied Literature and Film Production. She also worked in more then 20 documentaries and short film for Government of Assam, as an Assistant to renowned Directors in India.
In 2016 she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her Masters in Film and Media Production from New York Film Academy, Burbank. She directed her first short film Saanp Seedhi, an Indian family drama based in the United States.
In her words - "Visuals have always fascinated me and I want to tell stories through films. Film has such infinite ways to engage the world and make a change. At the same time, creativity is like a puzzle to me and I enjoy cracking that puzzle. I am very passionate about Direction, much more than other filmmaking disciplines because being a Director I will be the commander of my creative thoughts. I am imaginative about installing of lights in a room, placement of properties and other details, which could embellish the surrounding and offer space. The visual dimension and aesthetics gives me immense satisfaction."
Fighter is very close to me as it tells everyone story looking for that once chance to prove our dedication in our fields. When i read the screenplay it was my chance to give life to a story that I was living, hinting for one chance to prove my skills.
