MIKE SENS
Born in the Netherlands, Michael Warren Tijssens (pen name Mike Sens) studies at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (R.A.D.A.), London, and does a Master in Theatre Studies at the Sorbonne Nouvelle, Paris. Dramaturg of the European project « Go down in legend », he works with the rock singer Bob Geldof to create the musical « Destination Tomorrow » at the Palais Omnisports Paris-Bercy. Founder of Media Writers & Translators (M.W.T.), intercultural management agency, he adapts plays by classical and contemporary playwrights like Werner Schwab and Howard Barker. Michael Lonsdale directs his play « The Swing Bridge of the God Street ». Artistic director of translation systems for French theatre productions on tour in the entire world for the French Institute, he works with directors like Claude Régy and Peter Brook. After the film performance “Riot of Emotions” at the Ferme du Buisson (Marne-La-Vallée), he writes the dialogues of « Flowers of Evil » by David Dusa (Acid program Cannes Festival).
The title Fictitious Part directly refers to the employment of actors in the theatre.
Queen, maidservant, lover, widow or poisoner, prophecies or curses, Fiction with a capital F regulates our lives in society. We thus administer the ancient device of catharsis, supposedly to purify the soul... or does it merely bewitch?
Making a film within the theatre, of which the theatre is its very subject, allows us to open up the laboratory of impulses, to showcase the unspeakable: the thriller plot of Fictitious Part may find its outcome, yet the mystery between Rim and Kats prevails.
