Natalie Gilbert is a Belgian actress and filmmaker, born on February 7, 1975, in Braine-l’Alleud (Belgium). Her artistic career began at the age of 46 following a personal crisis. After training in acting under Alexis Van Stratum and Beatriz Flores Silva, she quickly took on roles in around twenty productions within just two years, exploring a diverse range of characters across short and feature films, music videos and advertisements.
She has notably been involved in numerous LGBTQIA+ projects including “Braids of Life” by Sam Benrive (800.000 views on OLM) and “La femme béluga” by Louise Obry (selected at the 2023 Eurydice Festival). Driven by a passion for conveying emotions and advocating essential messages, Natalie expanded her horizons by venturing into directing. Her debut drama film, “FEU MON AMOUR,” where she serves as writer, director, actress, and producer, marks a pivotal moment in her artistic career, with hopes to make it the first of many.
“Feu mon Amour” is a film loosely inspired by an event that occurred in Belgium over two years ago, which profoundly affected me due to its violence, injustice and the way it was portrayed in the media.
To fully explore the love story between the two women who were victims and to pay tribute to them, there are two versions of the film: one of 2 min20 and another of 7 min20.
This is my very first film, self-produced with a passionate volunteer team of both professionals and amateurs, all driven by the scenario’s powerful themes: the representation of women over 50 on screen, female homosexuality and the fight against violence towards women.
I hope it will resonate with you and that you will give it the opportunity to be seen and to circulate, opening up dialogue and continuing the fight.
Thank you for your attention so far…
I look forward to the possibility of meeting.
