El Festival del Nuevo Cine busca RECONOCER cortometrajes y largometrajes de nuevos realizadores y creativos que han enfrentando todas las dificultades de una industria que está en camino hacia la formalización del que hacer cinematográfico, en especial las relacionadas a los nuevos cineastas. Buscamos directores y productores que hayan sacado adelante su visión e ideales plasmados en el proyecto que ahora distribuyen.

El cine de nuevos realizadores usualmente es llamado “sin presupuesto” o “hecho con las uñas” erróneamente ya que, en realidad, esos proyectos muestran una faceta no explorada en el cine colombiano que solo reconoce el costumbrismo sin mensaje y un intelectualismo dirigido a festivales europeos. Estas nuevas obras se enmarcan justo en medio de esta dualidad, películas conectadas con el verdadero público al cual debería estar dirigido el cine colombiano: hacia los colombianos.

El elitismo inherente del séptimo arte cataloga a obras realizadas con menos presupuesto y apoyo/patrocinadores extranjeros como obras de “segunda categoría”, consideradas experimentos interesantes o actividades para aprender; y es por esa característica innovadora donde estas películas formarán el nuevo cine lleno de mentes inquietas dispuestas a explorar formatos, dar voz a los habitantes de diversos territorios y superar barreras económicas para crear las nuevas películas que nuestro público nacional elegirá ver. Por eso nuestro objetivo es REINVINDICAR la posición del nuevo cine en el panorama de nuestra ciudad, región y país.

New Cinema Film Fest seeks to RECOGNIZE short and long-term films by new filmmakers and creatives who have faced all the difficulties of an industry that is on its way to the formalization of cinematographic work. Awards & Prizes

Las categorías en las que se basarán las proyecciones son las siguientes:

Cortometraje Valluno: Propuesta de Cali y el Valle, categoría principal con enfoque en la región o tenga la identidad regional impregnada en su tema, propuesta visual y sonora con una duración máxima de 30 minutos.

Cortometraje nacional: Propuestas de toda Colombia con énfasis en proyectos que hablen de la región en donde se hicieron o tenga la identidad colombiana en su tema, propuesta visual y sonora con una duración máxima de 30 minutos.

Cortometraje internacional: Cortometrajes de bajo presupuesto de todo el mundo, con enfoque a temas como la identidad de sus naciones o sean realizadas con métodos de producción innovadores. Máximo de 30 minutos. En caso de estar en otro idioma deberá tener subtítulos al español.

Largometrajes independientes: Películas de todo el mundo realizadas con bajo presupuesto que ante la falta de apoyo se hallan logrado realizar. Sobre cualquier tema con una duración mayor a 70 minutos.

Cada obra compite por una estatuilla física del festival, el laurel de ganador y premios de aliados relacionados a la industria del cine.

The categories are the following:

Short film Caña de oro: Proposal from Santiago de Cali and the Valle del Cauca, main category focused on the region or has the regional territorial identity impregnated in its theme, visual and sound proposal with a maximum duration of 30 minutes.

National short film: Proposals from all over Colombia with an emphasis on projects that speak of the region where they were made or have the Colombian identity in their theme, visual and sound proposal with a maximum duration of 30 minutes.

International short film: Low-budget short films from around the world, focusing on themes such as the identity of their nations or made with innovative production methods. Maximum of 30 minutes. If it is in another language, it must have Spanish subtitles.

Independent feature films: Films from around the world made on a low budget that, due to the lack of support, have been made. On any topic with a duration greater than 70 minutes.

Each work competes for a physical statuette of the festival, the winner's laurel and awards from allies related to the film industry.
Each selected work could be projected outside the framework of the festival.

Rules & Terms

Cada sección, aunque diferente, tiene como objetivo principal visibilizar el trabajo de realizadores en nuevos, en formación o de bajo presupuesto, generando un diálogo entre las obras, las miradas de las distintas regiones del país y del mundo, aportando a la exhibición de piezas audiovisuales que escasamente pueden encontrar un público físicamente y potenciando la formación de los realizadores del mundo.

Las reglas del festival son las siguientes:

*El comité de selección podrá disponer de algunas de las películas enviadas a la selección oficial, para otras secciones o muestras paralelas no competitivas.

*El día de los resultados de la convocatoria, el comité de selección, puede declarar
desierta alguna sección en competencia.

*Solo se podrá participar con un (1) cortometraje como director. En otros roles puedes participar varias veces.

*Si la película enviada no está hablada en español (inglés, francés, alemán, etc.), deberá presentarse con sus subtítulos incrustados o en SRT.

*En caso de cortometraje, las obras no deben durar más de 30 minutos, el género y la temática se eligen libremente.

*Si la película ya se proyectó en otros eventos cinematográficos del país, aún puede postularse.

Sobre el reglamento:
Este reglamento puede tener leves modificaciones en el transcurso de la convocatoria.

Selección: De cada categoría se elegirán cinco (5) proyectos en selección oficial en cortometraje y (3) selección oficial quienes recibirán el laurel de “selección oficial” por lo que habrá 15 proyectos de cortometrajes y 3 de largometrajes.

Proyección: Se proyectarán los cortometrajes entre tres proyecciones diarias, primero la internacional, luego la nacional y por ultimo la local. Los tres largometrajes se proyectarán uno cada día del festival en el orden que los curadores vean oportuno.

Premiación: En el último día se llevará un acto de cierre tras los conversatorios. Allí se seleccionará a un ganador por cada categoría. Las menciones honorificas se otorgarán si los jurados así lo deciden y en cada proyección de cortometrajes se realizará una votación del público para elegir los proyectos en la premiación del público.

The rules of the festival are as follows:

*The selection committee may dispose of the films chosen in the official selection, for other non-competitive sections or parallel samples.

*On the day of the results of the call, the selection committee can declare any section in competition empty or without any winner.

*If the film sent is not spoken in Spanish (English, French, German, etc.), it must be presented with its embedded subtitles or in SRT.
