The third edition of the Sea Film Festival seeks to convene documentary film productions that have the seas and oceans as a common thread, addressing their themes from a scientific, cultural, or artistic point of view.

In a global scenario of social and economic crises, climate change, and loss of biodiversity and habitats, it is becoming increasingly necessary to understand and respect the oceans and seas better and value their existence and importance for the present and future of humanity and the planet.

The “Best Film” award will include 500 USD + a sculpture of a representative marine species of Chile

The “Best Short Film” award will include 250 USD + a sculpture of a representative marine species of Chile

There will be a "Best Film" category in which medium-length and feature-length films with a minimum duration of 40 minutes with the seas and oceans as their primary theme, can be submitted.

There will be a "Best Short Film" category where short films with a maximum duration of 40 minutes with the seas and oceans as the main theme can be submitted.

Productions from any country in the world will be accepted.

All links and languages will be accepted. In the case of productions in Spanish, English, subtitles are not necessary. For all other languages, productions must be shared with English subtitles

Applications will be received between April 1 and July 1, 2024.

Applications must be made through the platforms festhome.com and filmfreeway.com

The jury will choose by the absolute majority of its members the winning productions in both categories. If a decision is not obtained in a first vote, the two most voted productions will go to a second round.

The productions will be exhibited during the development of the festival at the Artistas del Acero in Concepción, Chile.
