Femme Revolution Film Fest

Femme Revolution Film Fest invites filmmakers and/or producers of feature length and short films from all over the world to submit their films to the competitions that will take place during the festival’s second edition

1. OFFICIAL COMPETITION SECTIONS

1.1 OFFICIAL INTERNATIONAL FEATURE COMPETITION
We will consider all feature-length films (fiction and/or documentary) produced in any part of the world, with a completion year of 2019-2020 as long as they have not been previously exhibited in Mexico City, either commercially or in film festivals or public screenings and have a running time of at least 60 minutes, including credits. These features will be considered provided that their script, and/or directing, and/or lead acting is a carried out by a woman.

1.2 OFFICIAL INTERNATIONAL SHORTS COMPETITION

We will consider all short films (fiction and/or documentary) produced in any part of the world, with a completion year of 2019-2020 as long as they have a maximum running time of 40 minutes, including credits. These shorts will be considered provided that their script, and/or directing, and/or lead acting is a carried out by a woman.

In the competition sections, we will not accept films made for promotional purposes, or those that have been aired on television, distributed via DVD or Blu-Ray, or via internet.

2. OFFICIAL RECOGNITIONS
The following recognitions will be given:

• Jury Award for the Best International Fiction Feature Film.
• Jury Award for the Best International Documentary Feature Film.
• Jury Award for the Best International Short.
• Jury Award for the Best Construction of a Female Character in an International Fiction Feature Film.
• Audience Award for the Best Feature Film.

3. GUIDELINES

1.- The second edition of Femme Revolution Film Fest will take place in Mexico City from May 28th to June 4th, 2020.
2.- Reception of submissions will be open as of Thursday, October 10, 2019 and will close on Monday, January 20, 2020. No work submitted after the deadline will be considered.
3.- The selected films in the various competitive sections of the festival will be chosen by a selection committee comprised of experts within the film industry and their decisions will be final.
4.- The official results of selected films will be made public on Friday, March 6, 2020 on the festival website: www.femmerevolutionfilmfest.com as well as on festival social media accounts.
5.- The films in the competitive sections of the festival will be evaluated by a jury comprised of recognized experts in the national and international film industries and their decisions will be final.
6.- Submitted films may be invited to participate in parallel non-competitive sections of the festival.
7.- The selected films may be included in national and international exhibitions in which Femme Revolution Film Fest participates throughout 2020- 2021.
8.- All submissions assume the acceptance of the rules and requirements outlined in this call for submissions.

4. RULES AND REQUIREMENTS

4.1 OFFICIAL INTERNATIONAL FEATURE COMPETITION

We will consider all feature-length films (fiction and/or documentary) produced in any part of the world, with a completion year of 2019-2020 as long as they have not been previously exhibited in Mexico City, either commercially or in film festivals or public screenings and have a running time of at least 60 minutes, including credits. 1.- Register your film at FilmFreeway www.filmfreeway.com through Monday, January 20, 2020 at the latest.
2.- All links and passwords for the registered films must remain active from the first day of registration through June 4, 2020 at the conclusion of the festival.
3.- The selection of films will be made by a committee comprised of experts within the film industry and their decisions will be final.
4.- No films submitted after the registration deadline will be considered for inclusion in the festival.
5.-The official results of selected films will be published on the festival website: www.femmerevolutionfilmfest.com as well as on festival social media accounts on Friday, March 6, 2020.
6.-Once accepted, a film may not be withdrawn from the official selection.
7.- Under no circumstances will Femme Revolution Film Fest pay screening fees for the selected films that were submitted in the open call.
8.- The screening format of selected films must be, without exception DCP and/or Blu-Ray.
9.- The projection copies of the selected films must be subtitled in Spanish if their original language is not Spanish, and in English if their original language is Spanish.
10.- The shipping costs of the projection copies, as well as of printed promotional materials for the purpose of dissemination will be assumed by the participants.
11.- Femme Revolution Film Fest may use clips of up to one minute from the selected films for the purpose of promoting the festival in media circuits.
12.- Femme Revolution Film Fest will recognize the Best International Fiction Feature Film in competition according to the jury’s decision.
13.- Femme Revolution Film Fest will recognize the Best Construction of a Female Character according to the jury’s decision. Only films in the International Fiction Feature Film competition will be considered for this award.
14.- Femme Revolution Film Fest will recognize the Best International Documentary Feature Film in competition according to the jury’s decision.
15.-All feature films in competition (either fiction or documentary) selected at Femme Revolution Film Fest will be considered for the Audience Award.
16.- The jury will be comprised of recognized experts in the national and international film industry and their decisions will be final.
17.- The jury may award special mentions.
18.- All submissions assume the acceptance of the rules and requirements outlined in this call for submissions.

5. DISPUTES

1.- Femme Revolution Film Fest reserves the right to modify the call for submissions as necessary. We recommend checking for updates and consulting the current version on the official website.
2.- Any dispute will be resolved under the laws of Mexico City.

Femme Revolution Film Fest convoca a realizadorxs y/o productorxs de cortometrajes y largometrajes de cualquier parte del mundo a inscribir sus obras cinematográficas en las secciones competitivas que se llevarán a cabo en el marco de su segunda edición.

1. SECCIONES OFICIALES EN COMPETENCIA

1.1 COMPETENCIA OFICIAL LARGOMETRAJE INTERNACIONAL
Se considerarán todos los largometrajes de ficción y/o documental producidos en cualquier parte del mundo con año de finalización 2019-2020 que no hayan sido exhibidos en la ciudad de México anteriormente ya sea en cartelera comercial, festivales de cine o muestras cinematográficas y que cuenten con una duración mínima de 60 minutos incluyendo créditos. Dichos largometrajes se considerarán siempre y cuando cuenten con guión y/o dirección y/o actuación protagónica llevada a cabo por mujeres.

1.2 COMPETENCIA OFICIAL CORTOMETRAJE INTERNACIONAL
Se considerarán todos los cortometrajes de ficción y/o documental producidos en cualquier parte del mundo con año de finalización 2019-2020 y que cuenten con una duración máxima de 40 minutos incluyendo créditos. Dichos cortometrajes se considerarán siempre y cuando cuenten con guión y/o dirección y/o actuación protagónica llevada a cabo por mujeres.

En las secciones competitivas no se aceptan trabajos realizados con fines promocionales, que hayan sido mostrados en televisión, distribuidos en DVD y/o BLU RAY o por Internet.

2. RECONOCIMIENTOS OFICIALES
Se otorgarán los siguientes reconocimientos:

• Reconocimiento del Jurado al Mejor Largometraje Internacional de Ficción.
• Reconocimiento del Jurado al Mejor Largometraje Internacional Documental.
• Reconocimiento del Jurado al Mejor Cortometraje Internacional.
• Reconocimiento del Jurado a la Mejor Construcción de Personaje Femenino de Largometraje Internacional de Ficción.
• Reconocimiento del Público al Mejor Largometraje.

3. LINEAMIENTOS

1.- La segunda edición de Femme Revolution Film Fest se llevará a cabo en la Ciudad de México del 28 de mayo al 04 de junio de 2020.
2.- Los trabajos serán recibidos a partir del día jueves 10 de octubre de 2019 y hasta el día lunes 20 de enero de 2020. No se aceptarán trabajos que se postulen después de la fecha de cierre de convocatoria,
3.- Los trabajos seleccionados en las diferentes secciones competitivas serán elegidos por un comité de selección conformado por expertos de la industria audiovisual y su decisión será inapelable.
4.- Los resultados oficiales de los trabajos seleccionados se darán a conocer el día viernes 06 de marzo de 2020 en el sitio oficial www.femmerevolutionfilmfest.com, así como en redes sociales del festival.
5.- Las películas de las secciones competitivas serán evaluadas por un experto jurado conformado por profesionales de reconocido prestigio en la industria audiovisual nacional e internacional y su decisión será inapelable.
6.- Las películas inscritas podrán ser invitadas a participar en las secciones paralelas del festival fuera de competencia.
7.- Las películas seleccionadas podrán formar parte de muestras nacionales e internacionales en las que participe Femme Revolution Film Fest durante 2020 y 2021.
8.- Toda postulación supone la aceptación de las bases y requisitos señalados en esta convocatoria.

4. BASES Y REQUISITOS

4.1 COMPETENCIA OFICIAL LARGOMETRAJE INTERNACIONAL

1.- Registra tu película a través de las plataformas FilmFreeway www.filmfreeway.com disponibles a más tardar el día lunes 20 de enero de 2020.
2.- Los links y contraseñas de los trabajos inscritos deberán permanecer vigentes desde el día de su inscripción y hasta el día 04 de junio de 2020, fecha en que concluye el festival.
3.- La selección estará a cargo de un comité conformado por experimentados miembros de la industria audiovisual y su decisión será inapelable.
4.- No se aceptarán trabajos que se postulen después del día de cierre de convocatoria.
5.- Los resultados de los trabajos seleccionados se publicarán en el sitio oficial www.femmerevolutionfilmfest.com y redes sociales del festival el día viernes 06 de marzo de 2020.
6.- Una vez seleccionados, los trabajos no podrán ser retirados de la selección oficial.
7.- Bajo ninguna circunstancia Femme Revolution Film Fest cubrirá gastos de derechos de exhibición de las películas seleccionadas que fueron inscritas en la convocatoria.
8.- Los formatos de proyección de los trabajos seleccionados serán sin excepciones en DCP y/o Blu Ray.
9.- Las copias de proyección de las películas seleccionadas deberán estar subtituladas en español si su idioma original es distinto al castellano y en inglés si su idioma original es en español.
10.- Los gastos de envío de las copias de proyección, así como de los materiales impresos para promoción y difusión correrán a cuenta de los participantes.
11.- Femme Revolution Film Fest podrá utilizar extractos de hasta un minuto de las películas seleccionadas para fines de promoción y difusión.
12.- Femme Revolution Film Fest reconocerá al Mejor Largometraje Internacional de Ficción en competencia según lo decida el jurado.
13.- Femme Revolution Film Fest reconocerá a la Mejor Construcción de Personaje Femenino según lo decida el jurado. Solo se considerarán para este reconocimiento, las películas de la sección Largometraje Internacional de Ficción en competencia.
14.- Femme Revolution Film Fest reconocerá al Mejor Largometraje Internacional Documental en competencia según lo decida el jurado.
15.- Todos los largometrajes en competencia (ya sea ficción o documental) seleccionados en Femme Revolution Film Fest serán considerados para el Reconocimiento del Público.
16.- El jurado estará conformado por reconocidos miembros de la industria audiovisual nacional e internacional y su decisión será inapelable.
17.- El jurado tiene la facultad de otorgar menciones especiales.
18.- Toda postulación supone la aceptación de las bases y requisitos mencionados en esta convocatoria.

5. CONTROVERSIAS

1.- Femme Revolution Film Fest se reserva el derecho de modificar la presente convocatoria según lo crea conveniente. Se recomienda verificar su vigencia y consultar la versión vigente en el sitio oficial.
2.- Cualquier controversia se resolverá bajo las leyes de la Ciudad de México.
