Half an hour silence
In an experimental movie I present you the reverse/replay of the seven days of creation, how everything is reduced to nothing, by preferring film-specific story telling to traditional narrativity. In this more than 8-minute-long creation I’ve combined different visual techniques specific to films and animations. I’d like to introduce the conceptual and philosophical background of my work with a text I’ve written:
”After the opening of the seventh seal, there was half an hour of silence in heaven. Creation turns into its opposite, as the world was created from the first to the seventh day, just like that it is being lost from the seventh day until the first. There is no catastrophy, slowly everything falls silent. Half an hour silence in heaven is a moment in our minds before that happens, what needs to happen. How will everything turn into nothing, what is there between everything and nothing, will there remain something after all this?
The film was meant to ask these questions, not to answer them.
