Jeremy Ratzlaff is a self-taught filmmaker & cinematographer based in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada. He is a strong advocate for Saskatchewan's independent film community.
Fear & Trembling is the follow-up to a smaller, COVID-era short I completed in 2021. In that film, Kit is a young woman who becomes upset and leaves during an awkward bible study group where sexual purity is discussed. Maggie Robertson (Kit) and I wanted to dig deeper into that character, and quickly imagined that Kit was in a position of creative leadership within her church community, and wondered what her position of leadership would look like while still under the shadow of abuse.
A few cocktail mixes of Soren Kierkegaard and Paul Thomas Anderson later, FEAR & TREMBLING was born.
