Damaged goods
Cinzia and Filippo meet in person for the first time after having met on chat. A badly cooked dinner, a few extra drinks, a constant alternation of attraction and embarrassment. They reveal themselves one word at a time, until Cinzia falls in her own usual trap, the one she triggers when she feels insecure. It is easy to relate to this story, in which diversity is only a detail. And it is on the viewer’s eye to decide whether this detail makes a difference.

Ludovico Bossi was born in Turin in 1997 and studied filmmaking at London Film Academy. Fatta male, his last short film, has been screened and won awards in several festivals of different countries.
The first date: so ordinary and yet so topical. The two characters stand in front of each other as if they were naked. They struggle to make a good impression but they feel unsure of being liked by the other. We observe them and we can capture every detail, we feel what they feel, we live what they live, their silence, their laughter… Then, all of a sudden, we find ourselves thrown out and the doors close. It seems like there is no more room available. Fatta male does not presume to offer any universal message or solution whatsoever. It just tells a story, as true as it possibly can be, so that most people can identify with it and think deeply about the others but most of all about themselves.
