For 50 years, the vision and passion of Five Towns College founders and educators, Stanley and Lorraine Cohen, continue to be realized in the work of young filmmakers, musicians, visual and performing artists.

Known as Long Island’s College for Creative Students, the college promotes and celebrates purposeful and effectual art from diverse perspectives, and is pleased to expand its reach to the community.

To honor the work of Five Towns College students, the college is pleased to host The Long Island Media Arts Show. The Juried Exhibition will include work in Film, Photography, 2D Digital Art, and Animation. Student filmmakers and artists from the college and community are encouraged to push their creativity and skills to new levels, and submit work to be considered.

The event promises to be a true manifestation of talent, creativity, and artistic energy

Rules & Terms

The Five Towns College Long Island Media Arts Festival is open to all Five Towns College Students.

Total of three (3) entries per student in the categories of Film, Animation, Photography, 2D Art." Any project that has been created outside of academic coursework is subject to the approval of the submitting student's division Chair and faculty.

PLEASE NOTE: Only films that are between 5 and 12 minutes will qualify for "Best Overall"

FILM Guidelines
Run time: 12mins for seniors and 10mins for Underclassmen.
File format must be exported in the H.264 format at 1920x1080 resolution.
All film files must be named as follows: 01_LastName_FilmTitle_Year (e.g. 02_Smith_Flight_2022)

ANIMATION Guidelines
Minimum Run time: 15 seconds.
Maximum Run time: 12mins for seniors and 10mins for Underclassmen.
File format must be exported in the H.264 format at 1920x1080 resolution.
All film files must be named as follows: 01_LastName_FilmTitle_Year (e.g. 02_Smith_Flight_2022)
Listing of any 3rd party content used in the scene (external/stock models, HDRIs, etc.)

PHOTOGRAPHY / 2D ART Guidelines
All Digital image content must meet the following requirements:
Image files should be 150 -300 ppi
Longest side should be 1200 pixels

Files should be JPEGS

All images must be named as follows: 01_LastName_ImageTitle_Date Photographed
Frame style should have a sleek, modern profile in black or white matte finish.
