Flying into infinity

A research ship of the future flies through outer space in search of the edge of the universe.

SYNOPSIS:
The distant future. A research ship controlled by an artificial intelligence ACDA (algorithmic constructive data analysis) flies through space at FTL. An ellipse-shaped robot ELLIPSE, with two eyes, about the size of a small dog, levitates to the control panel. The robot is physically on the ship performing some functions and also monitors the crew in hibernation. Flight time is 500 years.
ACDA notices and reports approaching the absolute void and the possible edge of the universe. ELLIPSE gives the command to revive the crew.
Crew: Lieutenant-Professor VIDA (27) is a tall girl with brown hair. Age 148
Captain-Master of the ship SOLON (52) a man with short hair, with a small beard. Age 365.
Sergeant-Specialist ABO (30) male with a bald haircut. Age 186.
Sergeant Engineer DEVI (35) male with shoulder-length blond hair. Age 210.

ELLIPSE greets the crew and prepares in a recovery state.
Captain Solon gathers everyone on the bridge and gives the mission. Davy is always in some sort of doubt. He has a hard time following orders after so many years of hibernation. He communicates with Vida, who is not exactly thrilled with his thoughts.
At that very moment, there is an impact on the ship and it shakes. All the crew members are gathered on the captain's bridge.
Everyone is analyzing the damage. ACDA slows down and reports the strangeness of the damage. ELLIPSE proceeds to make repairs to the outside of the ship. ELLIPSE shows an image of the damage to the crew. There is a shallow melted line about a meter long on the hull. The ship's hull can withstand the highest temperature known to man. The crew concludes that it's the Planckian temperature that was at a fraction of a second of the Big Bang. The crew can't believe it, given the total void around the ship.
The crew has doubts, theories. Davi only complicates matters by claiming he can sense something alive. Vida recommends he take a psychological test.
After a night with Vida, Davy disappears from her room. Davy is in the treatment room where Solon, Abo and ACDA are monitoring his condition. Solon states to Vida that she is losing her voice because of her connection to Davy. But Davy is stable on tests, yet he believes otherwise. And his position and rank may decide what to do. Whether to send him to the reserves or not.

ELLIPSE secretly gives Vida a microbot to contact and communicate with her. Davy is sent to the reserves. Meanwhile, Vida grudgingly gives her thoughts to Solon, but doesn't decide anything.

ELLIPSE observes the Beech tree from the molecular transducer in the ship's mess hall. Calling out to Vida. She is surprised to find that the tree is her tree from Earth. It's carved with her name and age 8 years.
The ship takes another hit to the hull. Solon, according to protocol, is attempting to complete the mission. Vida contradicts him, stating that the mission is too important to humanity and should be continued. Solon orders Abo to put Vida on standby (confinement). ACDA fails. The ship loses any safety. Solon makes the decision to bring Davy.
ELLIPSE informs Vida of Solon's order to send her to the reserve. Abo ties Vida up and brings her into the reserve compartment.
Vida fails to convince Abo that the ship is dying and there is no point in her imprisonment.
In the reserve compartment, Davy sees Abo and Vida. After some more blows to the ship there is a depressurization. Everyone is swept to the sides. They close their spacesuits. Vida sees a half-dead Davi in the chamber. Abo is carried away from the ship.
Vida in tears asks ELLIPSE for help, they go to a tree in the mess hall. She confronts an armed Solon. Solon blames Vida for the events that happened, a verbal altercation near the tree. Solon shoots the tree which disintegrates into shreds and leaves fly around. The flashes intensify, eventually the hull of the ship is punched through and everything flies out. Solon dies. Shards, particles, and leaves are illuminated by the light of the ship and flashes in space.
ELLIPSE is somewhere outside calling for Vida on the comms. Together they see the death of everything around them and the birth of something new.
