FLETCHER

A former New York Times reporter finds himself in a South American country investigating the brutal murder of three women on the banks of the Caya River. This is Fletcher, who will soon meet the Motoa brothers to gather more information about what happened. However, Fletcher is kidnapped by a group of narco-guerrillas, who torture and interrogate him about his alleged connection with a communist insurgent named Tomás. Fletcher knows he has reached what he calls "The Deathroom." He knows that very few live to tell of this experience, and that his chances of getting out alive are slim. From weakness and desperation, strength and the most incredible plan will emerge to save himself. Will he manage to survive, as fantastic as it may sound?

Director Statement

This medium-length film is an experimental work, shot in the southernmost city in the world, called Punta Arenas (Chile). With a low budget, and shot in a Mariachi style, with a single camera, and with a director who performs several technical functions. It is a feat and a privilege to have been officially authorized to adapt a short story by the famous American writer Stephen King. It is a story that maintains the rhythm and achieves an editing that has nothing to envy of large productions. It is undoubtedly worth seeing.
