FIABA GARGANICA (Gargano fairy tale)
The documentary intends to investigate the theme of the fairy tale starting from an interview with Laura Marchetti, anthropologist and scientific coordinator of the project "The roads of the fairy tale", which outlines the essential characteristics of the traditional fairy tale of the Gargano area, with a particular reflection on the places of the fable and on the peculiarities of typically Mediterranean heroes, defined "trickster": heroes not strong, often weak, characterized by cunning. The main theme is the narration of a traditional Gargano fairy tale, "The parabola of the chickpea": the story of a clever pilgrim who crosses the main centers and places of worship in the Gargano, meeting and doing business, until an unexpected ending. As a glue to the narrative, a selection of images taken from the Historical Archive of Luce-Cinecittà.
