FFAA (Abidjan Animation Film Festival) is a cultural meeting that will offer its participants another vision of animation and its leading role in the employment and development of countries around the world.
Every year, Abidjan will be the capital of the animation and for 3 days will be held various activities that will celebrate animation. Like the biggest animation festivals in the world, the FFAA wants to be international and unifying around a common passion.

1. What films can be submitted?

Any children's and family animation for cinema, television and any other screening platform produced after January 1st, 2021.
To compete, films must be submitted by February 27th, 2024 in one of the following categories:
a) Feature films
b) Short films
- TV programmes
- TV episodes and webisodes

c) Commissioned shorts
-Educational or scientific shorts
- Advertising or promotional films
- Music videos

d) Graduation films

2. Technical specifications

a) For selection

Videos must be uploaded directly to FilmFreeway or a web address (URL) must be included at the time of submission for all types of films submitted to the Festival. Appropriate URLs include YouTube, Vimeo or Dropbox. Password-protected URLs should be downloadable and active until May 5th, 2023.

b) For screenings in the Official Selection.
Directors, producers or distributors undertake to provide a copy of the presentation and a poster by February 27th, 2024.
The selected films must be provided with the Prores 422 (HQ) 1080 or High Quality H.264 codec.

They can be submitted digitally via an embedded URL.
Suitable URLs include YouTube, Vimeo or Dropbox.
Password protected URLs should be downloadable and active until May 5th, 2023.

3. Online Submissions

Only correctly completed FFAA FESTiVAL submissions will be considered and must be received by February 27th, 2024.

4. Selection

The selection is led by the FFAA FESTiVAL Content Management Team and the Festival Management. The selected films will constitute the official selection of the festival.

The Festival will inform the submitter by email if they have been selected, while requesting the necessary material for publications and screenings.
After being notified, participants have until February 27th, 2024 to withdraw from the programme. No films may be withdrawn after this date.
If a film has not been selected, the Festival will inform the submitter by email.

5. Subtitles

FFAA FESTiVAL does not subtitle any film presented at the festival. All films will be shown in their original language. Films that have French or English subtitles or have been dubbed in French or English are preferred for screening.

Toute animation destinée aux enfants et à la famille, destinée au cinéma, à la télévision et à toute autre plate-forme de projection produite après le 1er Janvier 2021.

2. Spécifications techniques

a) Pour la sélection

Les vidéos doivent être téléchargées directement sur FilmFreeway ou une adresse Web (URL) doit être incorporée lors de la soumission pour tous les types de films soumis au Festival. 3. Soumissions en ligne

Seules les soumissions FFAA FESTiVAL correctement complétées seront prises en compte et doivent être reçues avant le 27 février 2024.

4. Sélection

La sélection est dirigée par l’équipe de gestion du contenu du Réseau AIFA et par la direction du festival. Les films choisis constitueront la sélection officielle du festival.

Le Festival informera le soumissionnaire par mail s'il a été sélectionné, tout en demandant le matériel nécessaire pour les publications et les projections.
Après avoir été avisés, les participants ont jusqu'au 27 février 2024 pour se retirer du programme. Aucun film ne peut être retiré après cette date.
Si un film n'a pas été sélectionné, le Festival en informera le soumissionnaire par mail.

5. Sous-titrage

Le FFAA FESTiVAL ne sous-titre aucun film présenté au festival. Tous les films seront exposés dans leur langue d'origine. Les films qui ont des sous-titres français ou anglais ou qui ont été doublés en français ou anglais sont préférés pour la projection.
