FESTIVAL OF FEAR ELIGIBILITY:
Thank you for your interest in Submitting your Feature & Short Films to the 2019 Edmonton FESTIVAL OF FEAR International Film Festival, which will take place on Oct 11th, 12th, & 13th..
The Edmonton FESTIVAL OF FEAR International Film Festival seeks Feature-Length, & Short Films, from around the world in any of the following, or related genre groups.
HORROR FILMS and anything HORROR RELATED.
Related Genres, and Sub Genres, including, (but not limited to) some of the following::
Thriller, Crime, Supernatural, Psychological, Slasher
Animation, Paranormal, Fantasy, Found Footage, Zombies
Suspense, Action, Dark Comedy, Cult, Bizarre, Survivor,
Genre-Defying, Experimental, anything Horror Related
Documentaries, Horror or Horror Related
Music Videos, Horror or Horror Related
Shorts
Super Short (under 10 min)
The 2019 Film competition will open on October 31st, 2018, for all New Feature Length & Short Films, from around the world. We will accept all Submissions until August 25th, 2019
ALL FILMS MUST BE COMPLETED ON OR AFTER JANUARY 1st 2018, please DO NOT SUBMIT your Film to to our Film Festival, if your Film was Completed before this Date, or you will be Disqualified from the Competition.
I understand that my Submission is in no way a Guarantee of Acceptance into the Edmonton FESTIVAL OF FEAR International Film Festival. No Representative of the Edmonton FESTIVAL OF FEAR International Film Festival or any of it's Sponsors, or Affiliates, Business Partners, etc, etc has Guaranteed me admission into the Film Festival.
Once a Film is Officially Accepted by the Film Festival, it can no no longer be withdrawn from the Festival lineup/competition.
We will accept films completed, on or after January 1st, 2018. If your film has been released publicly on the Internet (This includes, Youtube, Vimeo, or released anywhere on the internet, etc) Your Film will be Disqualified if it is Available to watch Publicly Online.
If your Film has been Screened Privately, or at other Film Festivals, or Released Theatrically outside of Canada, that is fine, as long as it is not Available on the Internet, has been Broadcast on Canadian Television, or as long as it is not Available on Bluray, DVD, Pay Per View, etc... In other words, if your Film is AVAILABLE to Audiences in Canada it is NOT Eligible to be Screened at the FESTIVAL OF FEAR.
If you do Submit to the Film Festival, and you are Disqualified, the Submission Fee is Non-Refundable.
Submissions are by Online Screener Only. The Programmers watch every film that is Submitted. Official Selections will provide download links of their Films. We will send out everything you need to know, if your Film is Selected.
All films must be English Language or English Subtitled.
You will be notified of acceptance via email, in an Official Selection e-mail.
All Official Selections over 2 Minutes long will require at least a Teaser Trailer, so that we can help Promote your Film, as well as the Film Festival. (We put a link to your Trailer on our Website, and also feature your Movie Poster Artwork on the Website) Both the Teaser Trailer, and Movie Poster Artwork, need to be Available at the FilmFreeway, with a link to your Youtube or Vimeo Movie Trailer. We will Disqualify Films for not having these Items Available at the FilmFreeway, as we get closer to the Closing Date, for Film Submissions.
The FESTIVAL OF FEAR will also request that you send a DCP, or Bluray of your Feature Length Film, and in the case of Short Films, a link to a High Quality Download of your Film, so that we can put your Short Film on a Bluray with other Short Films, that will play in the same Block of Films. These are the Acceptable screening formats for our Film Festival.
If you submit a DCP (Digital Cinema Package) for D-Cinema Projectors, (Feature Length Films Only), please make sure the DCP file is professionally made and Theatrically Tested. (A Bluray Backup will also be required for all of the Announced Official Feature Length Film Selections, whether you send a DCP or Bluray)
All entries into the FESTIVAL OF FEAR International Film Festival, give the FESTIVAL OF FEAR the right to use any footage, or stills, from the Preview Screener and/or Movie Trailer, and all submitted publicity photos and any other materials sent to us pertaining to your Entry to use for promotional purposes, without limitations.
GENERAL RULES
1 . I have read, understated and fully comply with all submission eligibility information contained below.
2 . To the best of my knowledge, all of the statements in this document are true.
3 . This film or video is not subject to any litigation nor is threatened by any litigation.
4 . I am duly authorized to submit this film to the FESTIVAL OF FEAR.
5 . I hold the FESTIVAL OF FEAR harmless from any damage to Blurays/DCP's en route or otherwise during the course of the Festival’s possession of the film.
6 . I hold the FESTIVAL OF FEAR PRINCESS THEATRE, its owners, management, juries, subsidiaries, agents, sponsors, affiliates, etc, etc,. harmless from any and all claims of liability resulting from my entry.
7 . I certify that I have Full Rights to Enter & Screen the Film, as well as Full Rights to the use of the music in the entered work.
8 . I give permission for the FESTIVAL OF FEAR to use clips, stills, titles, copy, and/or information from the Film(s) for promotional purposes as required.
9 . I give permission to the FESTIVAL OF FEAR to screen the film at the Festival as well as any Festival-related presentations, programs, promotions, and/or events, upon Submission to the Edmonton FESTIVAL OF FEAR International Film Festival..
*Entrant’s name, address and the production’s title must be clearly marked on any and all submission materials.
* For those Invited to participate, we will ship material back (as required).
*If required, (upon Acceptance) the film must be shipped prepaid, insured and packed in proper containers.
*The FESTIVAL OF FEAR & PRINCESS THEATRE do not assume any liability for damage to DCP's or Blurays due to improper containers.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The FESTIVAL OF FEAR is hereby granted the right to utilize excerpt(s) or Snapshots, from any film submitted for exhibition. (For promotional purposes.)
The individual or corporation submitting the film hereby warrants that it is authorized to commit the film for screening, and understands and accepts these requirements and regulations.
The undersigned shall indemnify and hold harmless the FESTIVAL OF FEAR from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney’s fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening.
