No place for tears
As the village Maheser (Turkey), watches over the border to witness the end of the war, the neighbouring city of Kobanê (Syria) devastated by war, looks forward to the possibility of return and revival. Zero point of the Turkish- Syrian border… It is during the Syrian war, which is still going on today. One km opposite each other, the two neighbouring settlements; the Turkish- Kurdish village Maheser (Turkey) and the Syrian- Kurdish city Kobanê (Syria), having developed family ties over the centuries, are affected by the war. As the ISIS gangs arrive, the people of Kobanê escape, crossing the border to the Turkish side. Some take shelter at the village, some at the refugee camps nearby. This film is a long observation where people living in the shadow of war, stand strong in solidarity, with the hope of seeing their loved ones come back alive and looking forward to the day they can return and build their city, Kobanê . Their struggle is such that there is no place for tears.
