Black Folks Make Movies (BFMM) is committed to the examination of Black film history through images portrayed in film via education, the promotion of past & current independent filmmakers of color and the preservation of contributions by Black and other artists of color.

BFMM chronicles and celebrates the creation and expansion of alternative Black representation in mass media.

FADE2BLACK is our film festival which nurtures our indie filmmakers.

The SHORT SHORTS event is an opportunity for area filmmakers to submit their work for consideration for the F2B closing, 10/14/18, 5-7PM at the Esquire Theatre.

If your film is selected, screening will take place 10/14, 5:00pm-7:00pm at the Esquire Theatre where special networking opportunities await. SHORT SHORTS also includes an invitation only ‘Black Carpet.’

Also, Q+A discussions for you, your cast and crew to reveal your production process, etc.

In order to submit to SHORT SHORTS, over half (greater than 50%) of those involved in your production on and off screen should be African American or fall within the African diaspora.
