Director Statement

Growing up in a multi-cultural household we often experienced a degree of suspicion when it came to our parents. Elements of British xenophobia, as well as clear misogyny, lead to people often questioning the validity of parents' relationship. We made this film as a response to how South East Asian women are often stereotyped as meek and subservient, whilst their white partners as predators. We wanted to subvert that trope.
