FEATURE FILM SHOWCASE (non-competitive):
• One submission per Applicant.
• Films must not exceed 120 minutes (including head & tail credits).
• Applicants must hold rights to the materials submitted, including (but not limited to) performances, stock footage and music.

FILM NEWCOMER AWARD (competitive) for Southeastern Ontario High School Students:
• One submission per Applicant.
• Films must not exceed 10 minutes (including head & tail credits).
• All Applicants must be attending high school in Southeastern Ontario. NOTE: See the South Eastern Ontario Production Accelerator Fund website to confirm you are in the catchment at https://www.seopaf.ca/ [See Page 7 of the PDF Proposal document].
• All Applicants for this category must be prepared for a Parent or Guardian to sign the Eye2Eye permission form should their film be shortlisted.
• Terms for All Categories will also apply (see below).
BOB JOHNSTON MEMORIAL AWARD (competitive) for $1,000 cash to be used for Tuition at an Ontario-based post-secondary program of study in Film, Animation or Digital Media:
• Only one submission is allowed per applicant per year.
• Films must not exceed 20 minutes (including head & tail credits).
• Applicants must hold rights to the materials submitted, including (but not limited to) performances, stock footage and music.
• Applicants must be a resident of Ontario.
• Applicants must attend (i.e. as of September, 2024) a post-secondary program of study in Film, Animation or Digital Media, in the province of Ontario. Proof of enrolment is required.
• Award winners will have a year to use their prize money. FAN reserves the right to require proof that prize money has been used towards school registration, tuition or other applicable fees in the winner’s film program studies.
• Terms for All Categories will also apply (see below).
FILM FORWARD AWARD (competitive) for Ontario-Based Emerging Filmmakers:
• Only one submission is allowed per applicant per year.
• Applicants must hold rights to the materials submitted, including (but not limited to) performances, stock footage and music.
• Films must not exceed 20 minutes (including head & tail credits).
• Applicants must not have previously made more than one major film or broadcast, in order to be eligible.
• Award winners will have a year to use the award and must schedule in-kind donation, mentorship/ consulting time with the respective provider at a mutually convenient time. NOTE: In-Kind donations are likely to be available only in the GTA.
• Terms for All Categories will also apply (see below).
ALL CATEGORIES:
• Films must be submitted on Vimeo or YouTube with Passwords provided. Failure to provide a password will void your entry.
• Films must have no premiere requirements or prior screening restrictions that impact Festival eligibility.
• Films may have been screened at recent festivals or other public theatrical exhibitions, broadcast or streamed on television or the Internet, and/or released via any home video or other public distribution platform anywhere in the world.
• Submissions originating in 2019 or later are preferred.
• We encourage emerging filmmakers of all ages to submit their work.
• Applicants under the age of 18 whose project is short-listed will be required to submit permission from a parent or legal guardian before we are able to accept their Film at the Eye2Eye Festival.
• Films can be in any language, but films with dialogue other than English require English subtitles as open captions (hard-coded onto the film).
• NOTE: we would greatly appreciate it if you can provide open captions on all films selected for the festival, including English language films, to help with audience accessibility.
• All Films must be formatted to 16:9 aspect ratio.
• 2K and 1080p resolution accepted, but must adhere to the file size and aspect ratio requirement above.

May 13th - Short Film Finalist Selections Announced
June 7, 8, 9 - The Eye2Eye International Film Festival
June 9 - Emerging Filmmaker Showcase and Awards Presentations.
APPLICANTS ACKNOWLEDGE AND ACCEPT:
• The selection, scheduling screening or other exhibition of Films are at the sole discretion of the Eye2Eye Festival.
• All Films accepted into the Festival are subject to our programming guidelines and Eye2Eye is under no obligation to provide:
- Comments or feedback regarding the submitted Film;
- Information relating to the manner in which the Film is, will be, or was reviewed;
- Reasons why the Film was not selected to be a Finalist;
- Any other information relating to the festival’s review, consideration or the selection process.
• Films may be included in both our in-person and online festival programs.
• Eye2Eye is authorized to take clips, promotional materials and/or frame-grabs from submitted Films to use for promoting the Festival.
• All selected Films can be streamed online and at the Festival.
• Submissions and any promotional materials provided by the Applicant will not be returned.
