Evocare is a fictional short film based on the pain of losing a loved one during the chaotic scenario of COVID-19. This visual poem captures the emotional complexity of grief through the story of Alma.

Director Biography - Denise Luzuriaga, Daniel Jara

Denise Luzuriaga is a 24-year-old Ecuadorian filmmaker, graduated from the media production career at ESPOL's Faculty of Art, Design and Audiovisual Communication. She has directed, produced and written scripts for several short films, among which are: Cinetografía del tiempo (2020), The Awakening (2020), Antes de Salir (2021) and Evocare (2021). So far, her works address issues related to human psychology, space-time, and Latin American identity. Also, she explores genres like drama and suspense.

Daniel Jara is a 22-year-old Ecuadorian filmmaker graduated from the Media Production career at ESPOL's School of Art, Design and Audiovisual Communication in 2021. He has written, produced, and directed several short films: XFallo7 (2020), Very Close (2020), On My Birthday (2021), and Evocare (2021). His works explore genres such as science fiction, drama and suspense.
