Everything is Pornography

Within this series, I delve into the dichotomy of pleasure and piety, inviting viewers to confront the intersection of desire and religious symbolism. The juxtaposition of explicit visuals with “sacred text” serves as a commentary on the subjective nature of morality and the evolving cultural perceptions of sexuality.

Through the intentional merging of these seemingly disparate elements, I aim to provoke questions about societal constructs surrounding sex and spirituality. The overlay marriage of biblical verses onto corresponding explicit scenes prompts viewers to reflect on the dualities inherent in human nature, challenging them to navigate the complexities of taboo subjects within the context of personal beliefs and societal expectations.

The visual presentation, reminiscent of VHS closed captions, adds a nostalgic layer, welcoming viewers to consider the historical and cultural shifts in the representation of sexuality and religious narratives. Ultimately, my intent is to stimulate a dialogue that transcends conventional boundaries, fostering a deeper understanding of the multifaceted relationship between eroticism, faith, and the visual medium.
