Everyday dicks

This is a WORK IN PROGRESS (slight changes will be made to the music)
final version of the film that will be released within March 10th 2023

From July 2019 to April 2020 I had an online stalker, a stranger, who sent me creepy videos and wrote obscenities to me on Messenger. At the end of it, he sent me 46 videos, 20 seconds each, of himself masturbating.
Combining the original footage the stalker sent me and my witness of this abusive experience, Everyday dicks is not only my answer to the sexual harassment I have experienced, but it is also a film raising very crucial questions about the relationship between violence and the power of images, about the contemporary practice of diffused pornography, and about the ‘dick pic’ era we live in.

Director Statement

Through several media including performance, installation, sculpture and sound, I explore body practices and contemporary body politics making viewers aware of the silent and hidden ways power enters everyday life and affects relationships. I am interested in material culture and image culture and I dig into everyday life and practices to reveal, as it was almost an archeological operation, the signs of both the physical and invisible evidences of the strong connection between violence ad the ‘subjectification’ process.
