Serving as West Bengal’s upcoming premier film festival as the gateway of North-Eastern India, the Everest International Film Festival (EIFF) is founded to showcase the beauty of the Himalayan range in the plains of Darjeeling - the 2nd largest city in West Bengal.
The mission of EIFF is to present quality films from around the world as well as support, recognize and honor indie film makers. It will not only be a platform for showcasing films and networking but will also serve as a travel city to the transcending Himalayan scopes of Gangtok, Mirik, Kalimpong, Darjeeling and Kurseong inside India and furthermore to neighbouring nations like Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and Myanmar.
A full-fledged two day film festival showcasing not only excellent films and contemporary filmmaking skills with features, shorts, documentaries, mobile films, music videos and web series; but also hopes to be a dedicated contributor to the cultural arts, economy and education, through a highly effective strategic partnership model. EIFF will be introducing unique programs not only during its 2-day period, but will also have year-round programming through fellowships and workshops to keep the spirit of film making alive.
