Evacuate - THE SHOPWINDOW

The idea came from Carl, who'd been experimenting with some old footage he'd found on a stock footage website. On seeing it I said we could expand on this and coordinate the clips into giving them a relationship to music and lyrics. The vibe of the video is taken from that British wartime sensibility of "Keep Calm and Carry On". This happened to work well with the world descending into lockdown, the song is fun and hopeful so we wanted this to translate with the visuals.

We all feel this is probably the best visual representation of the band's music to date.

We're all gagging to see what we can achieve with a few quid... It's good to dream!

Carl: “‘Evacuate' has a fairly ambiguous lyric. It stems from a desire to put down roots and have a place to call home. Endless moves created endless anxiety - nine years, nine moves, London to New Zealand with stops along the way, later returning to finally settle in Kent (UK). ‘Evacuate’ came about while tinkering around on guitar with my four-year-old. He inspired the riff that runs throughout most of the song with his hilarious dance moves. He provokes a joyous melody from me as well!! Simon (Syd) helped to flesh out some of the lyrics until we got to a place that felt right” - Carl Mann (Composer)

As with all projects to start off big and then bring it down to budget & time constaints, but this never ever stops us from being highly creative. The buck stops with Carl, as it represents his music. Thankfully, the mutual respect we have for each other pushes us both to be better.
We can't wait for a bit of cash, then we'll blow the doors off with that video...
