Born in the mountains, based in the big city, Romaine is a filmmaker dedicated to telling hilariously human stories that show us all what we have in common, rather than what sets us apart.
Beginning with his NYU Tisch thesis film, “Lovers Leap,” Romaine spent the first three years out of film school creating the indie mini-series, 301 Stories, about young people coming of age in his native rural Appalachia. His short documentary, “Mountain Punk Arts,” is currently on the festival circuit, while he has several short and feature length projects in development.
Ethan also directs, produces, and edits music videos, commercials, and marketing films for clients across a variety of industries. He has worked with artists such as Emei, Black Coffee, Leslie Grace, and Fewocious, as well as brands including Mastercard, A24, Trojan, and Compass.
